When looking at your choices of systems when buying a burglar alarm, there are three basic types. These types are Away, Night and Away, and Twenty-Four hour. The RV burglar alarm security system that you
choose depends upon your needs.
- The “Away” function protects your house when no one is at home. This is the cheapest and most common system. It usually monitors two or three doors and has one motion detector. This system does not protect you while you are actually at home. The “Away” function is set when you leave the house and deactivated when you return.
- The “Night and Away” option allows you the same coverage as the “Away” system does above, but also provides a ring of protection around bedrooms for use at night. “Night and Away” usually costs more as more parts and labor are needed to install the system.
- “Twenty-four hour” protection. This option provides night, day and away coverage. “Twenty-four hour” protection is the most expensive where you can have every window open and still have protection.
There are other things that you need to consider when buying a RV burglar alarm security system for home or in your RV. Next entry will cover wireless versus hard-wired systems.
